This set of two vintage bookends, both depicting a scene of farmers praying in Millet's Angelus painting. Though the picture and materials are the same, the paintings are a bit different colored, making them extremely unique. These bookends are from the early 20th century, manufactured in 1925 by Kronheimer and Olderbusch.
The bookends are medium-sized, measuring 5.25 in length and 2.75 in width, with a height of 5 . They are signed and feature repousse figures, a polychrome-cold painted technique, and bronze plated solid white metal. The design mimics Millet's Angelus Painting and the theme is the Angelus Prayer. The bookends weigh 8 pounds and 2 ounces, making them perfect for all occasions. In really good condition for their age. See pictures. They are heavy!
